Atlanta is in for a treat Friday, August 25th for the Red Bull Culture Clash hosted on 787 Windsor Street SW in Atlanta, Georgia. At last year's UK battle, Jamaican emcee Popcaan won the clash with a wicked dub by Drake for smash single "One Dance". This year, for the first time ever in the states, Popcaan will make his American debut on stage representing his crew Unruly. The Culture Clash, a mash up of music-makers from Jamaica, Canada, UK, and America, will feature four unique crews battling to win over an audience of avid music fans. There is sure to be some tension in the room as the top crew leaders compete for the crown. Who will conquer the crowd with the most boombastic sound?
The temperature is cooling down in Atlanta bringing a lot more people to the city, including artists from around the country out to perform. Musical events including One Music Fest, A3C, Music Midtown and more are all happening in Atlanta this year as fall rolls around.
August is a month for planning and executing the blueprint for the Fall. We are entering the last quarter of the year and as we start to take tally of our wins and losses there is an important question to answer: "What is next for me?"

Woke up to a text message from one of the alumni members of the Patchwerk Marketing team notifying me the VH1 show, SIGNED, finally set an air date. Patchwerk Recording Studios was home to the cast of Lenny Santiago, Rick Ross, and The Dream who are judges seeking the best unsigned talent in the country. These three veterans in the music game are bringing their creative genius and business skills together for the music competition reality series set to air Wednesday July 26th, 2017.
The follow up to our Tight 32 Finale which took place back in January finally aired this past week on The Complex Network. The monthly contest united all the winners from 2016 and battled it out in Patchwerk Recording Studio's A Room called Studio 9000. Our Tight 32 engineer Latrez McClam loaded up each artist matched with producer to recite their 32 bars. Every artist was able to receive the tracks days in advance before the session so nothing but bars were being served.
Grown man business is what we are experiencing entering the month of July. The month of independence must be recognized and acknowledged as purveyor of the hip hop culture Jay-Z has spoken. His first release in the last four years and came right on time.
It's no secret that on a monthly basis the Patchwerkstudio Marketing team curates three monthly events to assist the music community in building quality networking relationships and opportunity to showcase their skills to a wider audience. The new digital A&R platform Ignite Urban has come along with Red Stripe to find the new big superstar artist! Will you take advantage of this opportunity?
Happy Record Store Day! Itunes, CD's, Spotify, Tidal, Cassette tapes, and Vinyl are all apart of the ways we consume music in today's generation. With all these platforms out, one thing connecting them has remained constant throughout the time of its creation, Record Stores. Record stores have been around since the late 19th century, and since then they have continued to be a hub for all things music. From Country to Gospel, Record Stores got it all. No matter what year it is, Vinyl still hold a level of value that can't be defeated. A lot of people assume that artist don't put their music on Vinyl anymore; however, I'm pretty sure your favorite artist has released their project on a Vinyl as well. In my opinion, real music lovers should always hold physical copies of the albums they truly adore. Record Store day was created to pay homage to all the independently own records stores around the world. Since 2007, this day has served as a center of unity for artist, musicians, shops, and music enthusiast. With the headquaters being in the United States, since its creation, Record Store Day has spread as far as the UK. Stores create contest, special releases, and music events that promotes the holiday as a whole.

If you haven't heard, Atlanta is the Hollywood of the South. Atlanta has become a hub for all things entertainment, but more importantly, the music that derives from the city creates a musical fortress for the South. Festivals play a huge part in establishing a permanent foothold in the music industry. Atlanta has over 50 music festivals a year and being that everybody enjoys an excellent concert, it can be a great tactic for some artist to gain exposure.
