A new year brings on fresh competition to the contest held at Patchwerk Recording Studios every month called The Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz. This month we present our producer of the month Manny Beats and emcee of the month Taylor Nixon. Both these talents hail from the Midwest which always show our competition love. Glad they took advantage of the opportunity and the platform. Listen to Taylor Nixon verse over Manny Beats production. She simply slides for 32 bars. Tell us what you think.

Taylor Nixon stopped by to discuss her win and how she prepared for the contest. The fact she mentions writing her verse before actually receiving the beats was crazy. As I mentioned often the Tight 32 Contest should not be freestyled if want to give yourself the best chance to actually win. She is proud of her network of friends who keep her motivated to keep attacking microphones with much charisma. The glimpse she showcase in this month competition display exactly that.

Don't wait last minute to enter the next contest taking place at the end of the month. Here is a link to make it happen. http://bit.ly/pwrtight32_feb27

Behind the Scenes of That Tight32

On the last Thursday of every month, PWR offers an experience like no other to up and coming producers and emcees. I got a chance to see the contest firsthand, and was blown away by the great vibes, professionalism, talent, and the plain awesomeness of what was taking place. We have to give a shout-out to the winning producer for this month's beats: @MiniProducer

Many have tried but only one could take the title as the 2016, Tight 32 finale winner.

Over the past year, contestants have competed in the monthly contest held at Patchwerk's very own Studio 1019. On January 9, all of last year's winners were assembled to the studio to determine who the hottest was. One by one, rappers entered the booth to spit a 32-bar track in 15 minutes.

The final Tight 32 contest of 2016 was intense as always and when the smoke cleared our winner was Preme. We always get asked the question, "Do the beats have to be trap?" My answer every time is submit your sound.  The issue I believe is most haven't found it yet. When you think about Patchwerk Recording Studios the underlining theme should be we are a professional recording studio. We are proficient in sound. Send us your best because that is what we expect 100% of the time. The emcees are going to paint the picture but the canvas is set up by the producer.  The production this month came from our first winner ever of the Tight 32 contest in January Kanagroo809.  Check out how the winning emcee Preme handled his production. Interview with Preme coming up end of week.

The winner of our producer portion  Kangaroo809 was the selected winner of the month beating out 12 other producers for the monthly title. This is actually Kangaroo's second time winning this year. Each emcee took a different approach and delivered heat. Producers looking for an opportunity and exposure should get involved with That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz contest. The event benefits both producers and emcees. Producers must submit three wav files for review. The staff selects which producer has the best three tracks. If selected the producer is invited to attend the session and watch multiple emcees spit over their production. The producers can exchange contact info and build a relationship with the talented emcees for future collaborations. Put some definition to your sound!

Similar to the emcee registration, Chase entered the contest going against some heavy hitters. Every month the judges look for production that make it fairly easy for true emcees to feel comfortable unleashing 32 bars inside the Sonically Superior establishment known as Patchwerk Recording Studios.
