The music community in Georgia should be excited about the House Bill 155 also known as the Georgia Music Investment Act but who really wins? Designed to retain, create and grow thousands of music jobs in Georgia is wonderful but who actually benefits from this bill set to go into action Monday, January 1st 2018?

Back for the First Time was Ludacris’ first major album, which released 17 years ago, on October 19, 2000. Patchwerk Recording Studios is proud to hold a Multi Platinum plaque commemorating more than 2,000,0000 sold copies of the trailblazing album. Since then it has gone up to 3,000,000 sold!

On Friday, October 6th at the legendary Patchwerk Recording Studios the marketing team put together the Who’s Werking Mixer.  An afternoon full of talented, innovative masterminds, networking amongst their peers. This riveting event was a networking platform for songwriters, artists, producers, and engineers. The purpose was to provide new & old sounds, while introducing new faces in an environment for collaboration with those who serve in the same realm of the industry. It was amazing to create an industry vertical that accurately reflects the passion of music and a lifetime of memory.

I often get asked questions about the Patchwerkstudio engineers being able to offer teaching lessons to the ones interested in learning. What I don't see however is the same people attending these powerful werkshops conducted by the marketing team at studio. Recently a werkshop was held where the entire audio engineering staff came out to talk to the people. Those in attendance received a boatload of info and got the chance to talk to the owners as well. People travelled across the country to obtain the info.

August is a month for planning and executing the blueprint for the Fall. We are entering the last quarter of the year and as we start to take tally of our wins and losses there is an important question to answer: "What is next for me?"

28-year-old Nick Grant recently dropped a new album this week named Return of The Cool. With a great support system such as Culture Republic's very own Chaka Zulu and Jason Geter it was no doubt that this young rapper from South Carolina deserved to be checked out.

The final Tight 32 contest of 2016 was intense as always and when the smoke cleared our winner was Preme. We always get asked the question, "Do the beats have to be trap?" My answer every time is submit your sound.  The issue I believe is most haven't found it yet. When you think about Patchwerk Recording Studios the underlining theme should be we are a professional recording studio. We are proficient in sound. Send us your best because that is what we expect 100% of the time. The emcees are going to paint the picture but the canvas is set up by the producer.  The production this month came from our first winner ever of the Tight 32 contest in January Kanagroo809.  Check out how the winning emcee Preme handled his production. Interview with Preme coming up end of week.

Producers looking for an opportunity and exposure should get involved with That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz contest. The event benefits both producers and emcees. Producers must submit three wav files for review. The staff selects which producer has the best three tracks. If selected the producer is invited to attend the session and watch multiple emcees spit over their production. The producers can exchange contact info and build a relationship with the talented emcees for future collaborations. Put some definition to your sound!

How are you protecting your most treasured gift? The voice is an instrument as well as a weapon in need of maintenance daily. Patchwerk Recording Studios is ending the year with our Weekend Werkshop series focusing on The Importance of Vocal Health and Wellness. Scheduled for Saturday December 3rd, 2016 don't miss out on the golden tips provided by vocal coach of Patchwerk Recording Studios Lady Bosé.

The winner of the producer portion for That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz for the month of August goes to Chase The Money hailing from St.Louis, Missouri. Similar to the emcee registration, Chase entered the contest going against some heavy hitters. Every month the judges look for production that make it fairly easy for true emcees to feel comfortable unleashing 32 bars inside the Sonically Superior establishment known as Patchwerk Recording Studios. Check out our interview with Chase The Money and connect with him for your next project!
