A new year brings on fresh competition to the contest held at Patchwerk Recording Studios every month called The Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz. This month we present our producer of the month Manny Beats and emcee of the month Taylor Nixon. Both these talents hail from the Midwest which always show our competition love. Glad they took advantage of the opportunity and the platform. Listen to Taylor Nixon verse over Manny Beats production. She simply slides for 32 bars. Tell us what you think.
Taylor Nixon stopped by to discuss her win and how she prepared for the contest. The fact she mentions writing her verse before actually receiving the beats was crazy. As I mentioned often the Tight 32 Contest should not be freestyled if want to give yourself the best chance to actually win. She is proud of her network of friends who keep her motivated to keep attacking microphones with much charisma. The glimpse she showcase in this month competition display exactly that.
Don't wait last minute to enter the next contest taking place at the end of the month. Here is a link to make it happen. http://bit.ly/pwrtight32_feb27
Starting a new series dedicated to the intricate lines delivered by iconic emcees. The first for this series is with Ras Kass. The owner of Patchwerk Recording Studios, Curtis Daniel III and friend to Ras created the concept. Throughout Ras’ career he has had a lot of people tell him how much they like his lyrics.
The month of October brought us a new champion to the producer arena by the name of MiniProducer. Only the second female to wear the crown in almost two years of the ongoing contest. Jasmine aka MiniProducer is originally from Kennesaw, GA and claims it! She visited Patchwerk Recording Studios to conduct her Spotlight Interview with our new personality on our IdOMUSIC TV channel Porchia Marie.

August is a month for planning and executing the blueprint for the Fall. We are entering the last quarter of the year and as we start to take tally of our wins and losses there is an important question to answer: "What is next for me?"
Jay-Z Releases BAM BAM Sister Nancy and Damian *Junior Gong* Marley take Jay-Z back to Jam down in the feature video from his critically acclaimed project 4:44. The single has gained momentum since the album launched on TIDAL and includes vocals from Bob Marley's youngest son Junior Gong alongside popular female emcee Sister Nancy. The track is a remake from Sista Nancy's classic anthem Bam Bam, that in recent years has been sampled in several projects including Kanye's song "Famous" featuring Rihanna & Swiss Beats.
The Plaque of the Month for July goes to the Brooklyn emcee Nas. Listed in many conversations as one of hip hop's greatest, Patchwerk Recording Studio's has the honor of saying we have werked on numerous projects including the July 15, 2008 release "Untitled." Amongst all the excitement of Jay Z releasing what some view as his most socially awoke album, you only need to look in your hip hop history books to realize Nasir Jones has tackled these issues for years.
It's no secret that on a monthly basis the Patchwerkstudio Marketing team curates three monthly events to assist the music community in building quality networking relationships and opportunity to showcase their skills to a wider audience. The new digital A&R platform Ignite Urban has come along with Red Stripe to find the new big superstar artist! Will you take advantage of this opportunity?
Coming off the early release of singles “Bounce Back,” “Moves,” and “Halfway Off the Balcony,” rapper Big Sean delivers in his fourth studio album I Decided.
I Decided. is Big Sean’s love letter to himself featuring his past and present self on the cover. He decided that he is the best rapper and proves himself with his hard hitting verbiage. Big Sean has come a long way from Finally Famous. For this album he worked heavily with up and coming producer and keyboardist Amaire Johnson, which provides a consistency and fluidity with each track. You can hear the Kanye West influence in tracks “Bounce Back” and “Sunday Morning Jetpack.”
