It's time to drop that next single or service the community with a new beat pack but question is how do you get the word out? If you haven't built a significant audience and not just social media how do you effectively make an impact? The answer indeed is found in your marketing plan and the budget baby! This is normally where the conversation goes left and stories of having it or not is constantly brought up. Well do you have at least $30?
Our first ever Masterclass was taught by one of the South’s most prominent producers, the legendary Drumma Boy . This event was a 2 -day werkshop geared towards up-and-coming producers, where they would receive one-on-one advice and tips from the Grammy-nominated producer, as well as netwerk with other producers from all over the country.
The Tight 32 Emcee and Producer Contest is entering its third year. I wanted to share where I think the gifted are missing their shot at maximizing the opportunities presented through the IdOMUSIC & Patchwerk Recording Studios platform.
In the newest release of #ZaytownBTS, Zaytoven shares footage of him at Patchwerk Recording Studios, showing up-and-coming producers the process he goes through when creating a beat. Where’s a better place to do this than Patchwerk?
August is a month for planning and executing the blueprint for the Fall. We are entering the last quarter of the year and as we start to take tally of our wins and losses there is an important question to answer: "What is next for me?"
The follow up to our Tight 32 Finale which took place back in January finally aired this past week on The Complex Network. The monthly contest united all the winners from 2016 and battled it out in Patchwerk Recording Studio's A Room called Studio 9000. Our Tight 32 engineer Latrez McClam loaded up each artist matched with producer to recite their 32 bars. Every artist was able to receive the tracks days in advance before the session so nothing but bars were being served.
As we prepare for our contest today it is important for us to share the stories of the winners who grace our platform. This month we had a couple of milestones take place. The producer segment featured our first female producer hailing from Brooklyn, NYC who is not new to winning trophies as well as a talented emcee from Ahoskie, NC winning the contest at our first live Tight 32 performance. What I mean by live is we hosted the competition at our monthly showcase IdOMUSIC at Apache Cafe and let the audience decide the winner. Shout out to Rodrick R.O.C and Ms.Madli for representing. Check out their interviews below and come see them rock the stage at Opera Nightclub tonight!
The IdOMusic Tight 32 on Thurzdayz Emcee and Producer contest held every last Thursday of the month invites the best emcees around to spit their hottest 32 bars in 15 minutes as well as producers to send in their best three beats.
Producers looking for an opportunity and exposure should get involved with That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz contest. The event benefits both producers and emcees. Producers must submit three wav files for review. The staff selects which producer has the best three tracks. If selected the producer is invited to attend the session and watch multiple emcees spit over their production. The producers can exchange contact info and build a relationship with the talented emcees for future collaborations. Put some definition to your sound!
The winner of the producer portion for That Tight Thirty Two On Thurzdayz for the month of August goes to Chase The Money hailing from St.Louis, Missouri. Similar to the emcee registration, Chase entered the contest going against some heavy hitters. Every month the judges look for production that make it fairly easy for true emcees to feel comfortable unleashing 32 bars inside the Sonically Superior establishment known as Patchwerk Recording Studios. Check out our interview with Chase The Money and connect with him for your next project!
